The Standard of Truth (week 46)

What a week!  The highlight of it was definitely Sunday!  Zoey had been looking forward to sharing her testimony in fast and testimony meeting for the last two weeks and made it a goal of hers.  So, we all went up with her and it was so great!!!  All the testimonies were focused on missionary work!  It was so great because we had a fireside at our church building that night on that very topic!  Our Mission President gave it and it was fantastic!  🙂

During the middle of the week we had gotten a call from our Mission President asking us if we could sing with the four other missionaries whose wards were also included in the Missionary fireside.  All I had to say was “what if I’m a terrible singer?”.  He said it didn’t matter and that all that mattered was the spirit.  He was right.  We started “The Standard of Truth” which says —

“The standard of truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing;….the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every climb, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.” — Joseph Smith, Jr.

After that song, we sang the primary song, “We’ll Bring the World His Truth”.  There were a lot of people there that were feeling the spirit which was way cool!

WE WENT TRACTING!!!  This week we went door to door trying to find people to teach!  We are only allowed to do it when it’s raining and this week was just that!  It was fun!  I helped the Spanish Elders find people to teach because a lot of people we talked to didn’t know English.  My Spanish is okay, but half the time I don’t understand what they were saying. The best door contact we had was with this born again lady who started speaking to us in tongues which was…..interesting.

Hope you all have a great week!

Love, Sister Meza
